A wholly Irish owned company founded in 1978 initially supplying microcomputers and educational software to schools and colleges.

Appointed Irish Distributor for Apple Computers in 1980, Softech established a dealer network around Ireland and won the first major contract from the Irish Department of Education to supply Apple Computers to all Irish Schools.

Softech soon diversified its offering to the business market and in 1983, as one of Ireland’s largest PC suppliers Softech, became a Digital Dealer for DEC Rainbow, DECmate and Profession range of office computers followed by its appointment as an authorized IBM Dealer. The genesis of the Softech Group of companies was its development of a number of successful software application products the most successful of which was in the telephone cost management arena. Ringmaster Software was an immediate success and warranted the creation of a separate company; Softech Telecom. Today, Softex (formerly Softech Telecom) is an independently owned company employing nearly 100 people and operating in over 40 countries.

In 1988 Softech added Unix multi-user Application Capabilities to its portfolio. Based on Altos Systems, and later Sun Microsystems, we were very successful in the development of bespoke applications, using programming tools such as Informix, Oracle, VB and Microsoft SQL. We specialised in producing small to medium sized client server and workflow applications tailored to our client’s requirements. Softech continued to develop its expertise in network implementations and partnered with Novell and Microsoft. As an Authorised Novell Reseller, Microsoft Solution Provider and Compaq System Reseller, we developed a level of expertise to satisfy the most complicated networking requirements.

As part of its strategic development Softech identified Imaging and Communications software applications as its key specialist area of capability. In 1994, Softech became Irish distributors for Captaris Rightfax, Cardiff Teleforms and Filenet Watermark. Today, Captrais Rightfax is the best selling multi-channel fax server in Ireland and is the international market leader in this area.

In 2001 in response to the success of our imaging applications the Softech Group established a separate software development company; Inpute Technologies Limited. Inpute concentrates on bespoke applications in the document image processing area.

Softech specializes in the provision of technical solutions in the areas of IT infrastructure, personal computing, network servers, access devices and printers for enterprises and SME businesses.

Softech consolidated its partnership with Captaris by achieving Platinum Distributor status in 2003. As a Captaris partner since 1994 Softech has demonstrated that it possesses the product, technical and integration expertise to fulfill the needs of companies of all sizes in a variety of industries. Captaris is the world leader in e-Document Delivery and Document Process Management software solutions.

Softech become a Citrix Silver Solution Partner in 2005 specialising in Citrix® Access Infrastructure Solutions for Remote Office Connectivity which enables organizations to securely deliver applications and information to remote offices and contact centers and maintain those applications and information from a central location.

Softech became a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner; the highest level of certification available from Microsoft in 200. Gold Certified Partners demonstrate the highest degree of competence in working with Microsoft technologies. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners have access to a variety of exclusive resources including 24/7 x 365 support from Microsoft and early product information.

Softech impliments N-able N-Central, a  complete platform for delivering IT services remotely across multiple networks and sites.

Softech added the Pano Select Partnership to its suite of international Accreditations. VDI delivers major benefits for organisations by simplifying administration, increasing security and reducing ongoing operational and support costs.
