The following table gives the latest patch level and the End of Life of each supported Rightfax version.

To discover which version of Rightfax you are running start Enterprise Fax Manager, click on the words “Fax Servers” in the left pane and the version is given in the Version column in the right pane. Make sure the column width is expanded to show all of the text.

Softech would recommend upgrading to the latest patch release.

How to Navigate Facebook’s Privacy Shortcuts

To change your Facebook privacy controls – Facebook has made the process of changing privacy controls a little easier with a new set of shortcuts found between the “Home” and “Settings” buttons in the top-right.

Clicking on the lock icon gives you three privacy settings to jump to:

• Who can see my information?
• Who can contact me?
• How do I stop someone from contacting me?

Clicking each of these options will give you a rundown of who can see what, who can contact you, how to block someone and how to change your settings.

How to Review Old Facebook Posts With the Activity Log

Facebook’s Activity Log, which it introduced last year, shows an overview of the activity on your profile.

Facebook recently updated the Activity Log with a new navigation on the left side that lets you review your comments and likes, photos of you, and posts you’ve been tagged in. You can also sort your information to see public photos you’re tagged in and have hidden from your timeline, but which still appear on Facebook.

The updated Activity Log is most useful if you’re looking to browse or remove individual posts, or tweak the settings of an action or photo–not for updating blanket privacy controls.

How to Browse Your Apps Settings

If you’ve ever logged into an external website using your Facebook account, you may be surprised to find how many have access to your profile. To review which apps you’ve granted access to, navigate to your Privacy Settings page and select “Apps” from the menu on the left.

Here, you can see and change whether the app is allowed to post on your behalf, whether those posts are public, what permissions each app is granted and whether it can access your data at any time. You can also view when it last accessed your data.

You can also choose to remove the app. Note that while you remove the app from your account and can choose whether to delete all of the app’s activity on Facebook it may still have the data you shared with it, which you can determine by reading the app’s privacy policy.

How to Set Your Facebook Notifications

Facebook’s Notification Center is where you view and change what actions you’re notified about on Facebook and how you’re notified of them. Find this by navigating to your Privacy Settings page and clicking “Notifications” from the left side.

For example, you can choose to be notified on Facebook and via text message every time someone tags you in a photo. Or, you can choose to be notified via a weekly email digest about important friend activity you may have missed.

There are a number of settings and options on this page; browse through all of them to ensure you’re seeing what you want to see and are being notified only about important activity.

Recent Report by Davidson Consulting Highlights Compliance as Key Driver for Continued Double-Digit Growth in Fax Services

OpenText, a leading provider of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) solutions, today announced that it was recently named the market leader in fax services by analyst firm Davidson Consulting, a fax industry analyst firm. In its “Fax Service Markets, 2012-2017,” report, Davidson Consulting assessed the major players in the industry and provided forecasts for several aspects of the fax service industry including compliance, fax servers versus fax services, fax machine connections, and fax over IP, looking forward to 2016.

“Fax has proved much stickier than anyone would have expected several years ago. Businesses find it an essential tool to comply with regulatory mandates and use fax because their trading partners prefer them to,” according to Peter Davidson, President of Davidson Consulting. According to the report, the fax market has grown 23.2 percent over the past year, with an 18 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) projected through 2016. The report positions OpenText as the clear market leader in 2012, holding three times the market share of the next closest competitor in both the large enterprise market segment and the broadcast fax service market.

“The enterprise fax services market represents a significant growth opportunity in EIM,” stated Gary Weiss, Senior Vice President of OpenText’s Portfolio Group. “With the acquisition of the cloud-based market leader EasyLink earlier this year, we have accelerated our leadership in the fax services market and will continue building out our leadership in fax software both on premises and in the OpenText cloud.”

According to the report, OpenText leads the overall enterprise Internet fax services market with more than 20 percent market share, nearly twice the market share of the next closest competitor. The report further validates the company’s leadership in this market, showing OpenText with 40 percent market share in enterprise production fax, a heavily compliance-driven subset of Internet fax services.

“Considering their current position and pace to date, OpenText will be hard to beat in fax and document delivery. If they remain on target with their current technology innovations, we expect them to remain well ahead of the competition,” said Davidson.

As more and more businesses move their communications infrastructures to the cloud, OpenText continues to enhance document distribution and improve how companies use fax for secure information exchange.
